Abstract
This is a EU TMR fellowship to examine if the catalytic properties of barley -amylase can be modified by the addition of a starch binding domain. Fusion proteins will be made genetically and expressed in Aspergillus. The properties of the fusion proteins, such as catalytic activity on starch, stability, and physical characteristics, will be determined.
