Abstract

With the advent of both physical and functional genomics, gene technology has undergone a revolution in both its scale and future possibilities. Through the efforts of the Crop Genetics Group, the institute has established several teams, which are at the forefront of their respective areas. These teams are involved in a number of collaborative programmes with both internal and external research laboratories. Significantly, a large number of the external collaborations involve international Agri-seeds companies. The members of the programme are therefore well placed to take advantage of both current and future developments within this rapidly moving areas.
