Abstract

The high level objective of this project is to develop and apply systems models and analyses at appropriate scales to compare and assess alternative land management scenarios and regimes. The outcomes will be the promotion of land management policies and practices that are more environmentally beneficial than those currently adopted, and a much increased capacity to assess alternative and new land management systems for their environmental impacts over multiple scales. The objective of the project is to develop a modelling system capable of describing nutrient, carbon and energy flows, transformations and storage within and between multifunctional land-use elements of a grassland landscape.
