Abstract
The methodology of design and analysis of experiments provides one of the most important tools for the Institute's research. This project encompasses all aspects of this activity, from research and application of new types of design to the analysis of standard field and laboratory experiments. Research includes both the study of the theoretical properties of experimental designs, and the development of effective algorithms for their construction. One particular area of interest concerns the development of design algorithms to take account of correlation models between random effects, to improve the exploitation of the new REML methodology.
