Abstract
The accumulation of abnormal protein tangles in the brain results in neuronal loss and the symptoms of age related memory loss, senile dementia. In this project we are examining the behavioural effects of both 'normal' ageing and pathological ageing, where protein tangles accumulate, in normal mice and mice who overexpress the 'hallmark' protein of senile dementia.
