Abstract

Numerous human and animal diseases are thought to arise from defective ¿signal transduction¿, the internal chemical language that cells use to monitor their surroundings and talk to other cells. Phosphoinositides are an important and widespread component of this language used by eukaryotic cells. The main interest in our group is to understand how cells in an intact organism control the levels of these molecules and the way in which this contributes to their normal functioning.
