Abstract
We study the mechanisms used by cells to transport proteins and lipids to distinct destinations. Such a process is important because it makes each cell efficient in carrying out its function in the organism. Errors in these pathways can result in major diseases such as cystic fibrosis or cardiovascular disease. We hope that by understanding the mechanisms involved, we will be able to design better medicines for correcting cellular mistakes.
