Abstract
The objectives with this project are to develop an characterise two to three appropriate rodent models-base line studies, to determine whether GALT/permeability perturbation alters TSE incubation and/or susceptibility, to determine whether gut inflammation or permeability is a risk factor for primary vCJD (strain and age), to determine mechanism(s) of IP/titre shift if obtained and to develop in vitro test systems collaboratively.
