Abstract

We will develop open-source procedures for visualising and modelling cell expansion in Arabidopsis roots from confocal microscope images. The project will build on and complement existing E-Science funded work, on visualisation of the root meristem, by specifically incorporating dynamic cellular processes, and dual labelling using fluorescent cell reporters. The project involves a multidisciplinary team including expertise in root cell biology and biophysics, computer image analysis and visualisation, and engineering modelling. Where possible, procedures developed will link to the Open Microscopy Environment data-structures to make the output useful to the widest range of scientific users.
