Abstract

Genome annotation has relied heavily on homology matching to assign putative function to genes. In the post-genome era, there are many other datasets from systematic experimental analysis of the transcriptome, proteome, metabolome, complexome and in silico analysis of textome, genome and protein structure databases which can be exploited for functional inferences. This proposal would exploit data from these sources and build a system which dynamically integrates these datasets in a distributed computing environment. We will build upon existing bioinformatics resources for the model organisms Arabidopsis thaliana and Streptomyces coelicolor.
