Abstract

We will use a proteomic approach to address two major problems in plant lipid metabolism: (a) the organisation of individual components into a metabolon and the nature and identification of the interacting proteins and (b) identification of components of the elongase complex using an affinity tag approach. This will specifically allow us to identify new components in the organisation of lipid metabolism and move from an individual enzyme based model to one encompassing the molecular association/architecture within the cell.
