Abstract
The aim of the proposed work is to identify and begin the characterisation of spore specific proteins involved in spore maturation and germination in S. coelicolor using the tools of Proteomics. We will study (1) spore maturation by looking for targets of omega-F, an RNA polymerase sigma factor controlling spore maturation; (2) germination by looking for potential post-translational modifications for the activation/inactivation of proteins and (3) the role of chromosome condensation during spore maturation and germination by focusing on proteins involved in DNA packaging.
