Abstract
Identify key areas of post-genomic data analysis and simulation that would most benefit from the application of large-scale, approximate (heuristic) search and optimisation techniques. Develop flexible, interactive search methods to obtain biologically relevant knowledge in the identified key areas. Develop the necessary middleware to enable the developed search algorithms to be run on cheap but powerful GRID computing resources that will be coming on-line during the programmes lifetime.
