Abstract

The overall objective is the comparative analysis of distinct pathogenesis-related developmental processes in M. grisea. This will be achieved by: 1) Use of mutants and cytological approaches to carry out a comparative analysis of the genetic requirements for the early stages of pathogenesis-related development on leaves and roots. 2) Large scale mutagenesis screen for mutants defective in plant infection. 3) Functional analysis of a predicted RNA- binding protein that is required for plant infection.
