Abstract

In functional genomics multivariate datasets are being generated by omic technologies. To fully exploit the information obtained in such studies requires extensive cross comparisons to other data sets necessitating collaboration between sites. In this proposal we will develop a web based NMR derived metabolomic/metabonomic database which will allow the deposition of H NMR spectral data sets derived from metabolic profiling studies. In this pilot study we will focus on metabolic profiles for mammalian urine and blood plasma. The on-line program will also collate standard spectra for key metabolites, allowing identification of biomarkers in metabolomics. Such a facility will significantly enhance metabolomics both in academia and industry.
