Abstract

The Collaborative Computational Project No. 4 (CCP4) program suite remains the standard software used in UK academic structural biology laboratories during structure determination and is free. During the last grant period, CCP4 developed and implemented a novel refinement program (REFMAC5), implemented a graphical user interface (ccp4i), supported the development of a data processing program (MOSFLM) and begun work on a visualisation program. This proposal seeks to modernise the underlying data structures, manage/support the suite and develop novel automated methods of structural analysis. These developments are required for the suite to remain relevant in the new high throughput era of Structural Biology. (Joint with grant number 19544).
