Abstract
This application seeks support to enhance the CD facility at the University of Glasgow, by the purchase of a new spectropolarimeter and appointment of technical support. The enhanced facility will meet the growing demands for CD, and will provide access to data at lower wavelengths and variable temperatures. The facility will support research programmes in the following areas: (1) Folding of recombinant and mutant proteins; (2) Conformational changes in proteins; (3) Multidomain proteins; (4) Proteins with novel structural and functional properties; (5) Membrane proteins; (6) DNA-binding proteins. The new facility will play a key role in providing training for post-graduate and post-doctoral research staff.
