Abstract

The aim of the project is to use changes in 1H or 13C chemical shifts in proteins, with pressure, temperature or ligand binding, to characterise changes in their structure. The rationale for this is that it is much more accurate to calculate changes in shifts from changes in a known structure that it is to calculate the shifts themselves. The method will be cross- validated and compared to previous results. It will be applied to BPT1 and lysozyme in the first instance and then to other biologically interesting proteins. The programs and protocols developed will be made available via the Web.
