Abstract
This study is to determine the molecular basis of antibiotic selectivity and translocation by antibiotic transporters. Our aims are: 1) to improve the quality of crystals of the drug specific tetracycline antiporter TetA(B) from E. coli, 2) to determine the three-dimensional structure using X-ray diffraction methods; and 3) to begin studies towards the structure of a bacterial multidrug transporter.
