Abstract

CCP13 in Fibre Diffraction has been running successfully for six years, has developed a suite of programs used world-wide and has organised annual workshops and newsletters that have helped to create and foster a national and international community in this research area. CCP13 software has been instrumental in analysing and in some cases solving many new fibre structures. A great deal has been done, but a great deal of necessary new work remains. This application is for renewed funding for CCP13 for three years. The main cost, at the level of 50% , is for a Research Assistant to write additional software for the CCP13 suite and to keep that suite in good order and with up-to-date implementation on different hardware platforms. Other necessary expenditure is on new computing equipment to help develop new, fast modelling software and running costs for future Workshops, Newsletters and good works.
