Abstract
Modified triphosphates bearing pendant primary amino and imidazole functions will be synthesised and used in in vitro selection experiments. The modified triphosphates are designed to increase the catalytic potential and structural diversity of the nucleic acid. Selex experiments designed to evolve a nucleic acid catalyst of the aldol reaction will be undertaken.
