Abstract
The X-ray structure of the mutlisubunit vandium bromoperoxidase from the red algae Corallina officinalis will be determined using the two crystal forms of the enzyme that are already available in combination with heavy atom derivatives. Details of the active site(s) 12 x monomer will be elucidated together with the role of the vanadium cofactor. Knowledge of the structure of this stable enzyme will be of interest for its development for biotransformation applications.
