Abstract

We seek funds to perform proof of concept of experiments to demonstrate the application of single molecule fluorescence far field microscopy to study biological processes in real time. In particular by labelling DNA polymerase with fluorophores conformational changes on the binding of DNA will be studied. Fluorescence resonance energy transfer between a donor and acceptor on the DNA and DNA polymerase respectively will be used to follow DNA translocation in real time.
