Abstract
Funds are sought to re-appoint a theoretical chemist/biochemist (Dr. J. Wilkie) and purchase computers to perform computationally intensive calculations in support of experimental and theoretical research programmes directed at the determination of enzyme structure and mechanism for a range of different systems including inositol monophosphatase, PLP- enzymes, methylaspartase, protein phosphatase inhibition and viral proteinase action. Dr. Wilkie will manage the computer and graphics facility and will help and train experimentalists in the use of computational chemistry methods (calculations and visualisation/structure manipulation) in support of experimental design and interpretation.
