Abstract

We have solved the crystal structure of the Ras related small GTP-binding protein ARF-1 complexed with GDP. ARF is involved in regulating intra cellular vesicle transport and phospholipase D activity. Funding is sought to pursue structural studies on ARF-1, in particular for the determination of crystal structures of mutant ARFs and ARF complexed to analogues of GTP. We also wish to initiate crystallographic studies on the Rho family of GTP-binding proteins, and an effector of Rac and Cdc42, the serine threonine kinase p65.
