Abstract

The active form of the molybdenum cofactor in many bacteria is a covalent complex of molybdopterin with GMP. Mutants unable to catalyse the attachment of GMP do not make active molybdoenzymes. This project aims to assess the contribution of the GMP moiety of the cofactor to the activity of DMSO reductase.
