Abstract

A modern computer system is needed for macromolecular crystallography studies of proteins and nucleic acids. A Hewlett-Packard Series 735 system is proposed to cater both for interactive computation (synchrotron data processing, structure solution, nucleic acid refinement) as well as batch work (refinement by X-PLOR of e.g. concanavalin A, trypanothione reductase, aldolase and glutathione reductase). The computer system will cater for 20 researchers using modern experimental techniques.
