Abstract
A case is presented for the acquisition of a state-of-the-art X-ray detector system to underpin the expanding programme of protein structure research in Edinburgh. In particular the enzymes dethiobiotin synthetase and 3-dehydroquinase and the proteins B-lactoglobulin, pp14, gelsolin and ubiquitin are currently under active investigation.
