Abstract
The programme described seeks to elucidate the mechanism of this enzyme in detail. (a) to define the residues involved in binding of the substrates, (b) to determine the order in which these occur, (c) to prepare specific mutants to enable the roles of individual residues to be determined, (d) to determine the kinetics of individual steps and (e) to examine the transformations of substrate analogues.
