Abstract
1. To synthesize novel inositol trisphosphate receptor agonists, partial agonists and antagonists based upon L-chiro-inositol 2,3,5-trisphosphorothioate and D- myo-inositol1,4,6-trisphosphorothioate. 2. To synthesize novel phosphate-tethered inositol trisphosphate analogues as conformationally restricted receptor ligands and enzyme inhibitors. 3. To exploit novel synthetic ligands biologically in permeabilised cultured cells and as metabolic enzyme inhibitors.
