Abstract
The aims of the project are: (i) to develop dispersive raman spectroscopy as a novel, rapid and non-destructive analytical tool for systems of biotechnological interest, in both solid and liquid cultures; (ii) to develop quantitative analyses by exploiting novel chemometric approaches, in particular for optimal wavelength selection; (iii) to extend the exciting wavelength range further to the infrared to minimise fluorescence; (iv) to exploit the system in the rapid analysis of strains producing industrially relevant compounds.
