Abstract

Proteomics will require the development of a new set of analytical tools that allow the resolution and characterisation of complex sets of protein mixtures in a high-throughput mode. It is proposed to investigate the design and application of cascaded arrays of photolithographically printed nano-columns to aid subfractionation of the proteome into defined fractions. Ultimately, it is envisaged that this approach will replace 2D-PAGE and be linked directly into MALDI-MS.
